Viewsonic advertises its VP2365wb as a professional display, so were absolutely gobsmacked when we saw the price. At only £164, it's the cheapest 1,920 x 1,080 23in IPS-based monitor we've seen.
Next to some of its pricier competitors, though, the VP2365wb looks entirely utilitarian. The all-black, matte plastic finish is hardly luxurious and the buttons below the screen look distinctly old hat.

Who says you can't have an IPS panel on the cheap?
We wouldn’t complain if we never had to review a cheap TN LCD panel ever again. Our experience with ViewSonic’s VP2365wb, on the other hand, has taught us we shouldn’t assume that the mere presence of an 8-bit IPS panel will ensure top-drawer performance. On the third hand, the fact that numerous online retailers are selling this monitor for just $300 renders it a solid value.

Cons: Narrower colour gamut than its more expensive rivals

The ViewSonic VP2365wb is an affordable monitor that provides a versatile, high-quality, 23in display that will be suitable for many businesses.
The ViewSonic VP2365wb monitor’s design is fairly nondescript, intended for the office rather than the living room. A sharp black plastic border runs around the screen, and there’s a row of old-fashioned plastic buttons on the lower edge to provide access to the onscreen menu. However, Viewsonic hasn’t skimped on features that will be useful for professional users.
